I See Some Farewell Posts.
I find that confusing, because according to my “click here to support the relaunch” button, Xanga is at 103% of its modified fundraising goal, in plenty of time for its modified date.
So it seems to me that a farewell post is probably unnecessary.
Plus, I think it’s past midnight on the east coast now and I’m here in the xanga weblog editor which may or may not be powered by wordpress by now but appears to be exactly the same as it has always been.
It’s like Y2K all over again.
Maybe.
A strawberry pop tart ice cream sandwich sounds pretty good about now.

just popped in to see if all was dark in the territories here. so far, so good. happy august, OBL
Xanga survived at the very last moment.
Mmm, poptarts. What I can’t figure out is why a site that has been hemorrhaging users while free is likely to become successful when it is not free. It’s a head scratcher.
I like poptarts. I like icecream. Never tried them together. Sounds dangerous. I bet the kids would love it. Maybe I’ll offer it up tomorrow and see.
Pop tart ice cream. Hmm. Yeah there was a bunch of stuff all at once near the end and I’m sure a lot of people are confused. By anyway the site is saved from death and there is much rejoicing.
We’re still in the old Xanga. The new one will be activated sometime in the coming weeks.
In Y2K, the power stations went sideways and the electrostatic grids made helicopters fall out of the sky. It was a grim time. But this Xanga transition will be much milder. A few squirrels will get zapped, maybe, but they are easily replaced.
@we_deny_everything - I have, in fact, already replaced them.
I feel lied to and abused. Whether or not I have actually been lied to and abused is a question that will never be answered. I’m going to try to forget about it and avoid airing any sour grapes. Oh. And I meant by xanga. I totally believe a strawberry poptart ice cream sandwich sounded good. And if it didn’t, what’s it to me, anyway?
I am staying with Xanga, but have two other sites now—just in case. Glad you are staying.frank
